How far in advance should I book my event?

In general, you will want to book your wedding reception at least 6-12 months in advance, especially if your wedding reception is during the peak season (May - September). This will provide ample planning and consultation time between you and DJ Marquez, as well as any necessary coordination with your catering hall, photographer and other vendors.

Do you have references?

Upon your request, we will be happy to provide you with a list of references from past corporate, wedding and other private events. Request it at info@sebastianmarquez.com.

What types of music do you play?
We own or have access to thousands of songs on vinyl, CD and MP3 formats. Our titles cover numerous genres and are suitable for any occassion: kiddie parties, to teen functions, to professional corporate receptions, elegant weddings, high energy dance parties and more!!! Please see our Music section for more information.

Is a deposit required?
A deposit is usually required to book your event date; this allows us to secure your date so that no one else can hire DJ Marquez on that day. We also provide a written contract to assure you we will honor your event date prepared to entertain! Please see our Pricing section for more information on deposits.

In what regional area do you perform?
DJ Marquez is based out of the Northwest Ft. Worth area and books events throughout the DFW Metroplex. He has performed in Downtown Ft. Worth, Irving, Frisco, Downtown Dallas and all the way back to Keller and Westlake areas.

Can I provide a song list and/or music that I want the DJ to play?
Absolutely! You direct how your event is going to play out, literally, so why not? DJ Marquez can also play from your iPod or CD's, and he will also honor any "Do Not Play" list you may have.

What do your rates include? Are there hidden fees?
All of our rates that we list in our Pricing schedule, or which we may quote to you, include planning, travel, set-up, performance and take-down. If you choose add-ons like fog machine or party supplies for example, you will always know up-front and in writing what the rates are BEFORE you agree to book the event.

Are You a 'laptop' DJ?
Technology has certainly influenced and enhanced the DJ industry in many ways, mostly in a positive manner; however, DJ Marquez prefers a more 'hands-on' approach to dee-jaying and only uses CD turntables (or vinyl turntables) for a more authentic sound and experience. (We do however entertain those who would like to connect their iPod to our equipment for specific songs that may be unique or otherwise significant.)

What kind of attire would the DJ be wearing at my event?
DJ Marquez understands that special events, such as weddings and corporate gatherings, may call for formal or semi-formal attire such as a tuxedo or suit. It's understood that sometimes the DJ may end up in photos and to that end, the DJ will make sure to dress appropriately with each occasion. If you have a specific dress code that you would like the DJ to adhere to, please let us know in advance.

How can I check availability?
Easy! The best way is to call DJ Marquez at 817-233-5699; or you can e-mail him at: mydj@sebastianmarquez.com - Please be sure to include the date requested, the type of event and the location and time (i.e. from 7pm - 11 pm, etc). DJ Marquez will respond to either voicemail or e-mail within 24 hours.
